  FAQ's
1
Qualifications of the Instructor?
Michelle has been an Ashiatsu and stone trainer for 4 years. She was an instructor for Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy and was trained by it’s founder. She wanted to add the anterior routine and left that group 3 years ago to be on her own. She is recognized by the NCBTMB as a provider as well as in the State Florida and Louisiana.

2
What will I learn and how is certification awarded?
For Ashiatsu Bar And Ashiatsu Floor: These courses includes both the anterior and posterior routine. Certification is awarded during the 3 day class, not at a later date or after practicing.

For Fijian: The 2 day course includes anterior/posterior and certification is awarded in class.

For Stones2Go: This one day course includes anterior/posterior and certification is awarded in class.

3
Will I have to sign a contract?
Only for payment, not for how you use the ashiatsu routine in your own practice or what you call it.

4
If I have already taken Ashiatsu and have not been taught the anterior routine, can I take it separately?
Yes, it can be taken at any time there is a basic course. I offer a one day 8 contact hour course on just the anterior.

5
Is there a weight height or weight limit?
As long as you can safely stand on a table then there is no height or weight limit on the basic course. The bars are mostly for balance. Unless you plan to take the advanced work. (If being off the ground is a problem for you then you can opt for learning the Ashiatsu Floor where it is offered.)

6
Do I need tremendous upper body strength?
No, not unless you plan to take advanced work.

7
Will I be certified after I take the course? Or do I have to come back after I practice so many hours?
At the time of you take the 3 day course you will take a practical test, done on an instructor. Upon passing, you will be certified. Unless you are unsafe, then you will be awarded you Contact Hours and will need to come back at another time.

8
Have you ever failed anyone?
It has not happened as of yet. My job is to teach and make sure everyone is successful.

9
What is the difference between Ashiatsu Bar Therapy, Ashiatsu Floor and Fijian Massage?
Ashiatsu bar therapy is done on a table with bars suspended from the ceiling for balance or a set of portable bar system. The client is undressed and lotion is used. Mostly the flat of the foot and heel are used. There is always one foot on the table. (Except for advanced work).

Ashiatsu Floor is the same except without the bars. Stools are used and the client lies on the floor on a mat with pillows and a face cradle from a massage table.

Fijian is a barefoot technique equivalent to neuromuscular massage with the feet. The client is fully dressed and lies on a mat or pillows on the floor. The therapist can either apply the technique standing or sitting in a stool.

10
What makes your stone class different from others?
This stone class eliminates time consuming preparation and clean up. It can also be taken out on house calls.

11
Who recognizes these courses?
It is recognized by the National NCBTMB, the State of Florida and Louisiana.

12
Can the stones be used in conjunction with the Ashiatsu?
They can be used with your usual Swedish routine or Ashiatsu Bar Therapy routine.

13
If I’m traveling on a plane do I need to bring a table or stool?
No, just your linens, antibacterial wipes and make sure you have a pedicure with toe nails cut short with no sharp edges.

18
Do you sell portable bars and can they be used in my office with my existing table?
Portable bars are available based on the practicality of your set up.
19
Will you teach us how to market this modality?
Absolutely! No one will be left in the dark as to how to introduce it to clients. How to advertise. What to charge. And how to utilize the press.
20
Why does the bar class cost more than the floor?
The bars sets are expensive and have to be shipped to each location. The bars have to be assembled before class and disassembled after class, boxed up and sent to the next location. Extra time and money is spent to insure that the locations can accommodate the bars due to ceiling height requirements. Also the instructor is required to climb up and down off each table.
